Biography
Designer and Artist
Spanish national, Tullio Tramazaygues graduated with a Fine Arts degree from the University of Barcelona in 1992, having studied art restoration, painting, sculpture, design and photography. From 1989 until the present, his career in art restoration has included work on the prestigious collections of both private owners and museums in Spain, where he has restored the paintings and sculptures of great masters such as Tiziano Veccelli, El Greco, P. Paul Rubens, Francisco de Goya, Salvador Dali and Picasso, providing him with many touchstones of inspiration for his own creations.
Since 1995, he has broadened the scope of his work to the restoration and decoration of Mediterranean villas in the northern regions of Spain and Italy. During this time, he also served as president of the Gerona, Spain design company Antiques l'Alguer, where he provided artistic consultation, as well as expert advice on art works, restoration, and the marketing and sale of antiques, paintings and sculptures created between the 11th and 14th centuries.
In 2007, he expanded his horizons by moving to the West Coast of the United States, where he founded the design corporation he still runs today. Barcelona Design provides a complete array of services, working with the architect and homeowner from the project's concept phase, through the design of interiors and personalized custom furniture and accessories; even importing antiques from Europe if a particular project style demands it. Tullio's attention to detail and his committment to the quality of final results are values he has cultivated throughout his professional career. As such, he often finds himself closely involved with their execution and finishing — going "hands on" — whether that means painting, woodcarving, the forging of iron, the embedding of semiprecious stones, or any other special finishing the project requires for success.
